The best winter upgrades for your vehicle

Snow tires are extremely common, but there are other features you can add to your car to upgrade your vehicle for winter driving comfort. Not only will they keep you safe driving in harsh winter conditions, they’ll keep you warm and cozy.

Seat heaters

If you don’t have a vehicle that came with factory installed heated seats, don’t panic. Easily installed in just about any vehicle, seat heaters seem like a logical addition to any car, especially in Canada where winters can last up to five months. Thin and virtually undetectable, the seat heaters feature flexible woven carbon fiber heating elements that provide safe and warm comfort at the touch of a button.

High-Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting

Of course headlights are important year round, but when visibility is reduced by winter driving conditions, there are several advantages to outfitting your vehicle with HID lamps. The purer white light of HID lamps enhances the reflective paints in road signs and markers creating a safer driving environment. The increased light output also illuminates a wider area in front of your vehicle, improving visibility and safety, without disturbing the vision of oncoming drivers.

Window tinting

Just because it’s cold outside, doesn’t mean the sun isn’t shining. Window tint can block up to 99.9 per cent of UVA and UVB rays, saving your skin from these harmful rays.  For babies and little ones sitting in the back seat, tinted windows are far more efficient in blocking these harmful rays than the stick on sun screen. These rays can also make the leather and other fabrics in your vehicle start to fade, so tinting can help keep the interior of your vehicle looking new longer.
